Ugh. These people are so awful. If anything "good" has come out of Covid, it's how the past two years revealed the true nasty characters of so many people.
We were all totally indoctrinated with the idea that it was vaccines that stopped the waves of death that washed throughout the now-developed world in earlier times, and without these vaccines the waves of death would resume again. It's a far more exciting story than the mundane reality of modern infrastructure, and it rationalizes the continued existence (and high level investment in) the pharmaceutical industry and its seamless alliance with the medical establishment.
So it is *long term* fascism, replete the most severe propaganda, painting vaccine opponents as ignorant religious fanatics, and painting the conflict in the same tone as the "good guys" Galileo and Copernicus against the evil Inquisition. The thing about long term fascism, fascism that's been there all your life, is that you're not apt to be sensitive to it. Combine that with the fact that most people, even educated people, are woefully ignorant about science, due in no small part to the fact that science is taught in school as a means to extract those few who are willing to put up with what is required to become a professional scientist, and deter, create aversion, and weed out everyone else.
But it's not impossible to overcome. One of my recent linear ancestors actually invented one of the early vaccines. I've told very few people about this my entire life, but those few that I did subsequently regarded me with a wave of awe. So I see first hand what we're up against, and I'm also an illustration that even a family loyalty type prejudice can be overcome. My ancestor was kind and intelligent, but, no, that part of his life's work was probably not as useful to mankind as most people would think. It's a bitter pill to swallow.
Yes, I believe that the root of this disaster of leftist intellectuals embracing the fascist position has everything to do with the century long, severe, all pervading propaganda concerning vaccines. That has to be overcome, and there are glimmers that we just might be on the threshold of that.

Chomsky lost all credibility when he told a student who pointed out that WTC 7 fell by controlled demolition (not a plane) that only professors were qualified to determine that a building which collapsed with no plane hitting it did, in fact, collapse due to something other than a plane.
Sadly true. Noami is now a Woke Kovid Kittie. As a fellow journalist, I had dinner with her many years back when her first book No Logo came out. I admired her and her work. I have since watched her slow and then precipitous pandemic descent with great disappointment. I am very pleased that you refer to the left as fascist because that's exactly what they are. More to the point I refer to the far left as corporatists. Not so much different than the far-right. A lot of people or I should say the majority of the world continue to mislabel the left as Marxist or communist, which in fact they do possess those ideological Tendencies. But first and foremost they are corporatist. The willing and unabated corrupted collusion of government and corporations. I.E.- public and private.
Naomi Klein - certainly a darling of program Democracy Now!, both have failed on 9/11 reporting, DN! has done atrocious coverage of lockdown, covid vaccine (mRNA) dangers, and Naomi Klein is looking to follow right behind.
