As a former skater who has participated in skating shows such as these in the past, it is heartbreaking to hear that Anastasia has suffered critical injuries from her fall.
I’d also add that skaters with this level of experience very rarely are so critically injured when they do fall because they know how to control falls.
It stands to reason that she did experience a medical emergency prior to her fall - or her partner did and something very unusual and atypical happened there - which was not caught or isn’t being addressed.
Awful, and for such a lifestyle, after such a fall, one would be fearful of taking another, perhaps worse. Might have to drop out of such competitions. ~~~A friend of mine last year, full of life, had lots of plans for her new condo community.
