Cancer centers report ‘widespread’ shortage of chemo drugs, survey says
October 5, 2023
Some of the nation’s largest cancer centers continue to deal with “widespread” shortages of life-saving chemotherapy drugs, according to a new survey. The survey was published Thursday by the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. Overall, 86% of surveyed centers reported a lack of at least one type of oncology medication. The survey found that among 29 U.S. cancer centers, more than 70% reported an insufficient supply of the chemotherapy medication carboplatin and almost 60% still see a shortage of the drug cisplatin. Carboplatin and cisplatin are commonly used in combination to treat many types of cancer. Nearly all of the centers in the survey reported being able to treat every patient who needed the drugs despite a lowered supply by implementing strict waste management strategies and other approaches. The White House said last month the United States’ shortage of cancer drugs is due to manufacturing and supply chain issues [researcher’s comment: Or high demand?].
Kevin Spacey, 64, Reportedly Rushed to the Hospital
October 3, 2023
Kevin Spacey was reportedly rushed to a medical center in Uzbekistan after he began exhibiting symptoms of a heart attack. The House of Cards alum was touring the Afrasiyab Museum on Monday, Oct. 2, when his left arm went numb, according to The Sun, leading him to seek help at a clinic in the city of Samarkand, where he underwent several tests, including an MRI. Spacey was in town for the 15th Tashkent International Film Festival, according to the publication, where he appeared on stage later the same day after receiving the all-clear from medical professionals. He's said to have shared the incident with the crowd, assuring them his health was "normal." Still, he said, "It made me really take a moment and think about how fragile life is - for all of us." The day before, he reportedly claimed to be preparing for his big "comeback" during an event in the capital of Tashkent, stating that his "best roles were ahead of him." The actor lost a number of prominent roles during his sexual assault trial, where he was found not guilty on all nine counts.
Kevin Spacey Trial: Defense Attorney Tests Positive for COVID
October 13, 2022
One of the lead attorneys representing Kevin Spacey in his sexual misconduct trial has tested positive for COVID-19. Jennifer Keller, who has handled much of the defense team’s cross-examinations, will not be allowed to return to court until she gets a negative result from two diagnostic tests that she takes two days apart. When she comes back, she must wear a mask, Judge Lewis A. Kaplan said. Keller was symptomatic on Thursday morning.
The judge said that anyone who had close contact with Keller will not be allowed to return to court until Tuesday. He said the jury is “all vaccinated to some degree.” Spacey’s legal team is also all fully vaccinated and boosted. Since they were exposed to Keller, Kaplan said the lawyers for the actor must wear masks for 10 days.

Pat Sajak gave the audience a health update on how his co-host was feeling. “I can’t even find my mark without her," Sajak said. "You’ll notice Vanna is not here, and I have to say that Ms. White has tested positive for COVID. That’s the bad news. The good news is I talked to her just a little while ago, and she feels fine. She has a little sniffle, but she tested positive and that’s the way it goes. So, she will not be here with us this week."

Brandi Glanville is recovering after being hospitalized Sunday following a collapse in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum's home. You guys have no idea the amount of stress I'm dealing with," wrote the reality personality, who shares sons Mason, 20, and Jake, 16, with ex-husband Eddie Cibrian. Cindy Barshop ‘Had to Relearn Even Basic Things’ After Brain Cancer
September 29, 2023
Real Housewives of New York alum Cindy Barshop dealt with some very heavy issues after leaving the show. The Completely Bare owner starred on the hit reality TV show during its fourth season but chose not to return. Perhaps Cindy made little impact during her reality TV tenure, but her courage and strength in the face of a frightening real world diagnosis is well-worth noting. In April 2022, Cindy was diagnosed with Primary Central Nervous System Lymphoma (CNS lymphoma). With this particular disease, malignant cells invade brain and/or spinal cord lymph tissue. Cindy endured headaches for months, but assumed they were stress-related. However, the entrepreneur exclusively told People that an incident during a flight home aroused suspicions of deeper issues. While returning home from St. Barts in 2022 with her twins Zoe and Jesse, Cindy was prohibited from boarding the flight. The airport crew believed her to be intoxicated. “I was drinking a beer, it was no big deal,” Cindy told the news publication. “All of a sudden, the airport security came over to me and said, ‘You’re not allowed to leave, you’re not acting appropriately.’ I didn’t even know what I did. But they thought I was off. It was the weirdest thing.” Cindy returned to the airport the next day and was cleared to travel. But the laser spa owner had another incident just a few days later at a charity event with her fiance, Jay Cardiello. “I was eating my fish with my fingers, then I passed out. Everyone thought I was drunk,” Cindy revealed. Her fiancé immediately took her to the emergency room. Four days later, she was diagnosed with CNS lymphoma. It has a five-year survival rate of 30 percent. Cindy’s course of treatment included 15 different medications and four rounds of chemo. But after it all, tests show that the reality TV star beat the cancer.
Social Distortion’s Mike Ness Gives Hopeful Cancer Update: ‘I’m Ready for the Fight’
September 30, 2023
Mike Ness, who revealed a diagnosis of tonsil cancer in June, posted a video to Instagram on Friday updating fans on his progress. The Social Distortion frontman underwent surgery that month as a form of treatment. “[I’m] still a little weak, but it’s getting there,” Ness says in the new video. In the clip, he plays a little bit of “Story of My Life,” a song off Social Distortion’s self-titled 1990 album that has become their calling card, and speaks to the camera while holding an acoustic guitar. “I’m into the fourth month of recovery after the surgery,” he said, standing amid lush foliage on a sunny patio. “Did it all here on the farm, which is the best thing possible. I love L.A. but the driving to treatments and appointments was brutal, so once we got here it was like, ‘This is where we need to be.'” Ness said he’s entering “phase two,” which is radiation and six weeks of a mild chemo infusion. “[I] feel a little weird,” he said. “It’s only three days in. But ready for the fight going in the second round.”

While he is now recovering, a benefit show has been organized by members of the local musical community to help with his growing medical bills.
Free software pioneer Richard Stallman is battling cancer
August 29, 2023
Richard Stallman has revealed he is undergoing treatment for non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a form of cancer of the white blood cells, but says that his prognosis is good. The 70-year-old Stallman appeared at the GNU Project's 40th anniversary celebration in Switzerland on Wednesday a very changed figure. The GNU project is currently celebrating four decades of work on Free Software, as we wrote last week, and Stallman appeared on stage to make the closing speech in Biel/Bienne. His characteristic long hair is gone, as is his beard. He said that he is suffering from follicular lymphoma, a form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. This a blood cancer, which causes B lymphocytes to form clumps in the lymphatic system. Although a non-Hodgkin lymphoma was also the cause of death of the late Paul Allen, the more charismatic of Microsoft's co-founders, there are multiple types of NHL disease and Stallman has one of the slower-developing types. He said that his prognosis was good and that he hopes to be around and active in GNU for years to come.
"shortages of life-saving chemotherapy drugs"
Many would disagree with that description. Who know that most chemo drugs are anything but life-saving. Perhaps this shortage is an opportunity for those with cancer diagnoses to explore natural, holistic medicines. That don't try to kill the cancer without killing the patient. There are other ways.
Maybe you and some others will call this "dangerous misinformation" about health. While I and others know it - know it - to be life-saving information. To all, you do with it what you wish. But don't pretend to believe you're protecting others by censoring and denying others the right to be exposed to information that challenges the grip of Big Pharma and Big Medicine has on their health. Those Big entities have forfeited any and all credibility. And are exposed as the murderers that they are. They deserve none of our trust. Not even about cancer. Or cancer treatment.

Supposedly 4 million Americans have taken the newest jab since it was released last month. A Moderna TV ad says “you should get your Covid shot on the same schedule as you get your annual flu shot”. This is good news for me, since I’ve never gotten a flu shot and won’t be doing so, ever. I’m off the hook with Moderna’s blessing!
