‘Kardashians’: Khloe Gets Results From Melanoma Removal & Reveals ‘Hardest Part’ Of The Surgery
June 1, 2023
The aftermath of Khloe Kardashian’s melanoma removal surgery was much more debilitating than she originally expected. On the June 1 episode of The Kardashians, Khloe revealed that doctors ended up removing more from her cheek than they thought they’d have to. “I woke up and had this huge bandage on my face,” Khloe shared. “I couldn’t really move my mouth because I had stitches on the inside of my mouth, too. This was way more serious than I either understood or anticipated it to be.”
Once the doctors removed the tumor, Khloe had to wait several days before getting her results for whether or not it was cancerous or pre-cancerous. “Melanoma’s deadly. It’s a lot,” she said to her BFF Malika Haqq in one scene. “The stitches is crazy. It’s a lot of stitches. A lot more than what I thought was happening. I have to have stitches for, like, two weeks, if they don’t have to do a separate round.”

'Little House on the Prairie' Star Melissa Gilbert Hospitalized
June 1, 2023
Former Little House on the Prairie star Melissa Gilbert was hospitalized over the weekend. On Friday, the 59-year-old actress revealed she was recently rushed to the emergency room after a bug bit caused her to be diagnosed with an abscess and cellulitis.
Gilbert, who portrayed a young Laura Ingalls Wilder on NBC's series, opened up about her health scare alongside two images snapped throughout her hospital stay as she issued what she dubbed "A Public Service Announcement." The actress went on write, "Well that was a fun night in the ER (she said with dripping sarcasm). Two days ago a flying insect (not bee or wasp) bit my arm. By last night my arm was incredibly swollen, red and hot." The former child star went on to say that she called her dermatologist, who urged her to "hightail it to the ER," and while she was initially going to wait, her husband Timothy Busfield said, "'absolutely not. We are going!'"
Following many tests, Gilbert was diagnosed with an abscess, a "pocket of pus" that can occur "almost anywhere" in the body, according to the U.S. National Library of Medicine. She was also diagnosed with cellulitis, a potentially deadly skin infection caused when bacteria infects the deep layers of skin, according to the American Academy of Dermatology. Gilbert said she was given an IV containing the antibiotic clindamycin as well as Benadryl and acetaminophen, and her condition "immediately started to get better." However, doctors "still kept me up all night. Starting antibiotics, Benadryl and ibuprofen orally today."
"The lesson - take bug bites seriously! If it swells up like crazy (my whole upper arm was swollen!) don't wait to get treated thinking 'It's just a little bite. How bad can it get?' Go to your dr or urgent care or the ER. I'm serious! Back in the days of [Laura Ingalls Wilder], this would've meant death or amputation. There's treatment available," Gilbert wrote, referencing her Little House character. "So now I'm going to take my meds and rest like the good bunny I am. Stupid bug bite."

Jane Fonda, 85, Spotted in Wheelchair at LAX 6 Months After Revealing Her Cancer Was in Remission
June 1, 2023
Jane Fonda was seen being pushed in a wheelchair around Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday, May 31, nearly six months after announcing her cancer was officially in remission.
The Grace and Frankie star looked as elegant as ever, sporting a black jacket and a deep purple sweater over a white, button up shirt. She completed the look with matching black pants, a small black bag, a light-framed pair of sunglasses and a face mask to help keep her safe from further health risks.
Last September, the beloved 80 for Brady actress took to social media with a somber post announcing that she'd been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and had already started chemo treatments.
"This is a very treatable cancer. 80% of people survive, so I feel very lucky," she explained at the time. "I’m also lucky because I have health insurance and access to the best doctors and treatments. I realize, and it’s painful, that I am privileged in this. Almost every family in America has had to deal with cancer at one time or another and far too many don’t have access to the quality health care I am receiving and this is not right."

Melissa Gilbert looks great for being 590 years old.
Must have been that country living that helped her age so well. 😂
One thing I was told by a rheumatologist prior to covid was that "biologic drugs" increase melanoma cancer risks & recurrences . My own history of melanoma made me ineligible to take biologics for inflammatory arthritis.
But they changed their tune for the covid injections. Then in 2021 the same doctor advised me to get the covid shot to protect myself. I declined telling her I'd already had covid.
At this point I am having a lot of anxiety about going to any doctor. I've lost all trust.
