TV Journalist Anne Thompson, 68, Kept Cancer Battle Secret For a Year While Still on Air – Wore Wigs and Fake Eyelashes to Cope With Hair Loss
June 19, 2023
Veteran TV journalist Anne Thompson, 68, was determined not to let breast cancer take away her passion for storytelling. While working as an on-air correspondent for NBC, she kept her cancer battle secret for a year – despite experiencing hair loss from her treatment.
She didn’t want to draw attention away from the news and onto to herself, so she worked hard to wear wigs, put on fake eyelashes and make fake eyebrows for the camera.
“I didn’t want to be the correspondent with cancer,” Anne Thompson told the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
'Love & Marriage: Huntsville'’s Kimmi Scott Talks 'Bouncing Back' After 'Aggressive' Breast Cancer
June 23, 2023
'Love & Marriage: Huntsville' star Kimmi Scott opens up to PEOPLE about her difficult breast cancer journey and how she’s using her platform to raise awareness for early detection
On June 14, 2022, Kimmi Scott was at home watching the NBA finals with her husband Maurice when she naturally ran her hand along her right breast and noticed a lump. Knowing that she had her annual exam in December, the Love & Marriage: Huntsville star admits she didn’t think much of the lump.
However, as a registered nurse, she knew she needed to give herself a more thorough self exam.
“As a nurse I was like, ‘Eh, maybe I should check further.’ So I started looking under my right arm, my left breast and under my left arm. And I found a second lump under my right arm,” she recalls. “So that was probably when I actually started getting really worried because I understand as a clinician that once cancer sometimes gets into your lymph nodes, that's kind of the highway to the rest of your body.”
Scott immediately scheduled a doctor’s visit and received a mammogram on June 16. Six days later, she was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer — which accounts for about 10-15% of all breast cancers.
The real estate agent, 34, is now opening up to PEOPLE about her devastating breast cancer diagnosis and how she’s been working hard to “bounce back” after a draining year of treatment.

June 12, 2023
Amanza Smith has undergone surgery on her spine for a blood infection.
The 'Selling Sunset' star has taken to social media to reveal that she's now recovering after having surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
She wrote on Instagram: "Over a month ago and all of this started I thought that I had a bulging disk or a slipped disc or something wrong with my lower back that was regular. I laid in pain in my house for several days. I cried. I took Tylenol. I went to urgent care.
"I didn’t know what it was but after over a month of excruciating pain I finally started to get some answers. I got an MRI and a CT scan and then was told that I need to go to Cedar Sinai. I came to Cedar Sinai last Friday thinking that I was going to get another scan on my back and then go home. Instead, I was admitted and they immediately started testing me for things in my blood.
"Come to find out I had an infection in my blood that had caused, a great deal of infection to be spread to the bones of my spine and it’s called osteomyelitis …the good thing about all of this I’m in the best hospital and quite possibly the world and every doctor and every nurse has been right on top of everything to get the answers that we need to get me to where I need to be, which is better. (sic)"
Amanza received treatment for ten days before undergoing surgery.
The TV star is now hopeful that she'll make a full recovery.
Pat Sajak Retiring From 'Wheel of Fortune' After 41 Seasons Following String of Bizarre Behavior
June 13, 2023
Pat Sajak is heading into retirement. The Wheel of Fortune host, 76, will be leaving his four-decade run as host of the competition show after the 2023-2024 season, RadarOnline.com can reveal.
The television personality confirmed the news on Monday after being accused of displaying bizarre behavior this past season.
Sajak has hosted the syndicated game show since its debut in 1983. Despite teasing his and costar Vanna White's retirement months ago, Sajak's exit announcement didn't mention the leggy letter-turner.
His decision to walk away from Wheel of Fortune comes on the heels of mounting backlash.
As RadarOnline.com reported, Sajak recently landed in hot water (again) after snapping at a contestant named Debbie and her granddaughter while trying to solve puzzles in a triple Toss-Up.
After they struck out, rather than being sympathetic, or even polite, Pat, 76, condescendingly barked, "Why are you bothering?"
While he attempted to backtrack on his comments, viewers pointed out that Sajak has uttered a string of absurdities lately.
He's mocked a contestant's speech impediment, made fun of another's fish phobia, jokingly put a show winner in a chokehold, asked WWE celebrity contestant Austin Theory to take off his shirt, and pulled on another competitor's beard.

CARRIE ANN INABA RETURNS TO SOCIAL MEDIA AFTER MULTIPLE HEALTH ISSUES
June 23, 2023
Carrie Ann Inaba recently took to Instagram to share about her health challenges. Since 2021, the DANCING WITH THE STARS judge has faced multiple health issues, including a fractured rib, COVID-19, and most recently, emergency appendicitis.
After taking some time off of social media, Inaba decided to do an Instagram live on June 7th to share details of her struggles. The post’s caption shared “What’s new everyone I haven’t been here at all this year. I’ve had a lot of medical stuff… but I’m back. Because the human spirit is very resilient. And the body is always trying to find its way to healing.”
She began the live by saying, “So, I know I’m very random. I haven’t been here in a long time. I’m doing actually really good. It’s taken me a long time because what I realized is I’ve been kind of dealing with health situation after health situation. I have not been able to be here and it’s been kind of hard for me.”
She continued by saying, “I know you guys know… I was building furniture at the beginning of the year, and I fractured my rib, and that finally healed. And then I caught Covid during all those rainstorms. And then after that I kept getting stomach flu.” Shortly after several episodes of stomach flu, she came down with emergency appendicitis.
“I was able to go and fix [the appendicitis], thank God, and it’s taken me this long to just get normal,” Inaba revealed. “I have a little bit of a belly, which is part of the healing process. So, I’m getting there.”
Hi Pat, I’d like to answer the puzzle “VACCIN INJUR D”.
It’s amazing to watch all of these folks who have EVERYTHING going them suddenly being brought down by the same thing that helped them become suck-cessful; which is their unique abilities to conform, and kiss the right asses. It’s not working out so well for them now, I guess? Now they are spinning the wheel of health misfortune which only contains things like ass, breast and ball turbo cancer. Yup - they have all goose stepped their way into a fancy box with a lid.
