I miss the food at Spences Bridge, the ferry going to the Gulf Islands, all our stops along the Cariboo Hwy. I miss driving to Old Hazelton and along the Skeena and I even miss getting creeped out by all the missing and murdered billboards along the Yellowhead.
I love Haida Gwaii and was supposed to go back in 2020.

I spent all of 2021 and a great deal of 2022 yelling and cursing when I wasn't praying.
The thing is, people are usually great wherever I go - sure there are exceptions, but I've seen humans of all ages and races do the bravest, kindest things. And life is just so weird and unpredictable.
It was actually my first husband (that I'd spent 15 years detesting two decades ago) who first warned me about the death shots. But then I raised 5 kids without ever once taking them to a doctor. And my husband and I have never been to a western doctor so that helped in avoiding the trap.
And the only sibling that sees things the same as I do now, is the Stanford trained neurologist who I could NEVER talk to about the dangers of western medicine (he always thought it was so great). But now we get along, who would've guessed?

Are they all that stupid, and just seeing clearly when some important "dignitary" of their own gets hit squarely by the result of their decision? It sure stinks like a dead rat to me. But now it is time to save face, at least for the immediate moment. Let's not open the champagne bottle quite yet, and wait to see where the Swiss and Thai flashes of light lead to, if anywhere.

As a US expat retiree living in Cuenca, it was easy to hide from the ridiculous "mandatory" vaccination. I was following the many South American activists groups on Telegram (one has an FM frequency to be able to reach indigenous peoples deep in the Andes) and was confident they would fight valiantly. But let's be cautiously optimistic. Chinese vaccine companies have promised to build vaccine factories in Ecuador. This is by no means over.

Yes! But first convict them of high crimes and treason and crimes against humanity and throw them under the jail. And then go after their assets and make sure they and their families have absolutely nothing left. It still won’t be enough to make amends to the harmed and killed, but hopefully it stop them from regaining power or at slow them down.

As a US expat retiree living in Cuenca, it was easy to hide from the ridiculous "mandatory" vaccination. I was following the many South American activists groups on Telegram (one has an FM frequency to be able to reach indigenous peoples deep in the Andes) and was confident they would fight valiantly. But let's be cautiously optimistic. Chinese vaccine companies have promised to build vaccine factories in Ecuador. This is by no means over.
I too am an expat living in Ecuador and completely agree with you that this war is far from over.
We can be thankful for winning a tiny skirmish but the war rages on and the force we are facing has neither weakened nor has it by any means capitulated.
As Robert Higgs -- one of my favorite experts on history and economics -- has famously said as he advised a group of attendees at one of his lectures to get out of the US (paraphrasing), "Don't expect these countries to be bastions of laissez faire, but thank goodness they don't have the means to inflict all the authoritarian surveillance, pain and suffering as does the United States."
There's rarely a day that passes that I don't tell myself how thankful I am to be an expat living here.

Does anyone think the contracts are the same for all nations? Curious. Not talking about compensation but about being able to sue and other nefarious details.
Can’t wait to finally get to see the, heavily shrouded in secrecy, get out of jail free, contracts that have cast a stench the world over. 😡
