Side note: for decades, just to give you an idea of what the pharmaceutical companies are capable of, my blood pressure was absolutely a-ok. Always around 140/90 and every time the gp shook my hand saying "...you're doing fine, Ade, keep it up..." -fast forward a few years, when, as I found out later, some international heart association or whatever, lowered the 140/90 standard to 120/80! From one day to the other, I had "high blood pressure". My gp didn't even blink when he said it. I told him that I didn't understand, knowing that for years and years and years, he'd always been so enthusiastic about my blood pressure and now, out of the blue, he wasn't anymore. He just ran down a few lines that sounded like a sales pitch to me: "...new research has shown that it's better to have blood pressure ratings closer to 120/80 due to diabetes, lifestyle, blah blah blah etc..." -Initially I went along with it, but after a few weeks I came to the realization that this whole story meant that now, with these amended numbers, there was suddenly a completely new population that "had" to be put on medication, in other words: more blood pressure meds to be sold to a whole new market! Brilliant! I now barely listen to him anymore, but changing gp isn't an option either, 'cause all these new and young "doctors" all peddle drugs instead of actual off the cuff knowledge.
Exactly that. It just makes my skin crawl that what had always been considered a good blood pressure for years was, ideally, 140/90, and that that particular number had a certain 'population' that only 'needed' medication if their numbers rose above that 'standard'. By lowering these numbers to the 'new' ideal blood pressure standard of 120/80 you do one thing and one thing only: you, overnight, tag millions of people as 'patients with high blood pressure that really need medication'. You can almost hear the cash registers dinging while reading that. If you do a bit of research on this subject, you'll find plenty of articles from doctors who did not agree to that step at all.
Indeed. I buy the actual black seeds aka Nigella Sativa in bags at our local oriental store and throw them in my food while preparing it. Their bitter, slightly tangy flavor adds a lot of joy to an otherwise regular oriental dish and: it's good for ya :)
It seems like heads of state and captains of industry are significantly underrepresented in the sudden death lists.
Giving money to the Cancer Society is giving money to evil!
Good point

Yes, back in the old days, doctors knew that older people need higher blood pressure than younger people and didn't freak patients out...

IMO, the majority of people have better quality of life seeing doctors as little as possible.
That list is insanely long.
Black seed oil has some great literature as a standalone cancer treatment and as a protective against radiation and chemo.
