Former NHL hockey player and Richmond, B.C. native Raymond Sawada passed away unexpectedly this Monday.
According to a GoFundMe page, started by someone close to the family, Sawada reportedly died on the ice “while playing the game he loved” just outside Vancouver....
(It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we share the devastating news of the sudden passing of Ray Sawada. At age 38, Ray passed away on the evening of Monday April 10, 2023, while playing the game he loved. He leaves behind his loving wife, Nicole, his two young and incredibly amazing daughters, Victoria (9) and Charlotte (6), and his supportive, devoted, and dedicated family and friends.
Ray grew up and lived in the City of Richmond. He was a hard-working firefighter for the City of Burnaby. He joined Burnaby Fire in 2017 and has been an integral part of the department where he served with distinction and honor....)
My Aunt Evelyn Dillabough, 68 passed suddenly in her sleep April 8, 2023 after an illness. Wake and funeral held at Roselawn Chapel in Maitland, Ontario. We are devastated. Thank you to you and your team. This must be a very heavy burden doing these lists. God bless.
Her family is grateful to her GP, Dr Zeits Hendriks; her oncologist Dr. Sanjay Gupta; the nurses and staff at the BC Cancer division of Kelowna General Hospital; and the community nurses at Interior health for their various contributions in helping alleviate her illness.

So sad. Raymond Sawada should have lived another half-century.
