The key phrase over the last few years was "died suddenly". Now, it seems to be ". . . passed away after a brief illness".

What kind of "brief illness" kills people in the prime of their lives? I used to think of "brief illness" as a cold or maybe flu. I guess fatal heart attacks, strokes, aneurysms, etc., are now classified as "brief illnesses".

Seems like the brain cancers, pancreatic cancers, etc. are the "brief illnesses". A person gets a headache, goes to the doc, and finds out he / she has STAGE 4 cancer. I saw video of one young lady, a doctor working on new antibiotic technology, who got turbocancer. She was so heartbroken at her fate. She was only in her 20s and she was beautiful.

Anyone, especially any young person, who has taken this deadly "medicine" needs to hear the good news, the hope of new life and restoration when this life ends. It is both the Christmas and Easter messages.

Our lives are already short. In the past, we always thought we could wait until our elder years to consider our relationship with God and his right hand in our world, who is Christ Jesus.

Many no longer have that luxury.

Heard in church Sunday that a woman with 5 children (ages 3-15) got a terminal diagnosis. Weeks, maybe a couple of months as her initial diagnosis. I have heard of respiratory issues that go downhill quickly and also sepsis.

Was thinking exact same thing.
