That's a strange situation that I've experienced twice - I was gung ho about a treatment that the FDA endorsed and all the advertising and media supported, but the doctor himself didn't seem to believe in it. Same sort of thing - he dragged his feet, picked his words carefully, etc. Part of the problem was that they weren't trained in anything that could actually help, even though there are such things, but they had no alternative treatment to suggest.
I'm glad I thought I was a horse and avoided the jabs. I would have taken "horse dewormer" if I actually needed it which I didn't.
