Tom Jones and CSNY do "Long Time Gone"; Pentatonix does "Hallelujah"; Bob Dylan, a choir of angels at his side, does "Like a Rolling Stone"; Billy Preston does "My Sweet Lord"

Tom Jones is still standing and singing his heart out. A number of years ago I read an interview he gave on Mojo where he talked about the way he’s endured. His main points were that he loved what he did, took good care of himself and always steered clear of drugs. Maybe CSN&Y would have benefited by following his lead.
George R.R. Martin once described a character's voice as sounding "like honey poured over thunder," and this line-up feels like honey soothing the daily tectonic plate shifting thunder of the news. Brilliant and beautiful selection. You need a channel as disc jockey of the apocalypse/dystopia!
Along with many celebs, Crosby and Young showed their true colors in the past few years. Nothing more sweetly ironic than a youthful freedom rebel turned stodgy doctrinarian. They exemplify nothing admirable to me.
Many of my favorite musicians went off the deep end as they became successful elites. Very sad. A few have resisted - like Clapton, Dylan and Morrison...
Say it ain't so?! Oh man! Ugh. We love Pentatonix. My family loves Dolly Parton and respect her for all she does for others BUT singing that vax song just hurt my heart. Still stings.
"They can kill musicians, and drive many of them mad, but they can't kill the music."
Van the Man Morrison. The only musician who came out against the covid madness without having vax injuries as the reason (sorry Clapton - should have listened to Van the Man).
I remember watching Tom Jones on tv as a kid... my friend’s mom would just about throw her panties at tv screen! 🙈😁
As a kid, I remember my mom playing Tom Jones on our "record player". Simpler times, the memories held dear.
Great to see Eric Clapton strumming on My Sweet Lord before the jab damn near took his hands.

Without a doubt

Our generation made great music. Everything since is derivative. Glad the older Gen Xers appreciate it.
my fave Tom Jones - Gimme Shelter (with New Model Army) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZ_yJXhniDM

Great musicians. Sad but true.

I love pentatonix but was very sad to see them doing PSA during COVID pushing the jab.

The Lies we Were told - as documented by a registered nurse Substacker ... They are all maddening and remind me of the novel "Catch 22."
