Just in:

Stacy Wakefield, wife of late Red Sox pitcher Tim Wakefield, passed away on Wednesday, the team announced in a press release.

Both Wakefields had been diagnosed with cancer last year. Tim passed away on Oct. 1, the final day of the 2023 season. The 57-year-old knuckleballer had been battling brain cancer, the news of which only became public the week before.

The Wakefields were beloved members of the Red Sox organization, known for their extensive philanthropic efforts and generosity. They leave behind a son, Trevor, and a daughter, Brianna.

The Red Sox issued the following statement on behalf of the Wakefield family:

“It is with deep sadness that we share that our beloved mother, daughter, sister, niece, and aunt, Stacy, passed away today at her home in Massachusetts. She was surrounded by her family and dear friends, as well as her wonderful caretakers and nurses. The loss is unimaginable, especially in the wake of losing Tim just under five months ago. Our hearts are beyond broken.

“We will remember Stacy as a strong, loving, thoughtful and kind person, who was as down-to-earth as they come. We feel so lucky to have had her in our lives, and we take comfort in the fact that she will be reunited with Tim, the love of her life.

“We would like to thank all of Stacy’s doctors, nurses and caretakers who helped her from diagnosis to today—we are eternally grateful for your unmatched care and support. And to all of you who have sent well wishes over these last several months, we truly appreciate your kindness.

“We kindly ask for privacy at this time as we try to process this profound loss.”

I feel so terrible for their kids, losing both their parents in that way, one so soon after the other.

Never forget that we were all supposed to get jabbed so we wouldn’t “kill granny.” Remember the hugging through the shower curtains and all that ridiculous propaganda. My mother bought it, and refused to see my son, her only grandchild, for 34 months! Now it is us who need to avoid them!

So glad my son’s triple-jabbed granny lives a thousand miles away. Would never let him get into the car with her. These people should have their licenses revoked.

Reading through these stories and trying to guess at how big a slice of the pie they represent?

A tiny fraction, barely visible, would be my guess.

So, this is turning into a massacre. Actually it’s been a massacre for a while, now.

We have to keep on hoping and talking.

Adele postpones 10 residency shows

Superstar singer Adele has postponed all 10 of her shows on her "Weekends With Adele" residency from March 1-30 at Caesars Entertainment's (CZR) Colosseum at Caesars on the Las Vegas Strip because of illness, according a Feb. 27 social media post.

The "Hello" singer had not rescheduled new dates for the cancelled shows as of Feb. 28.

Adele's remaining 10 "Weekend With Adele" shows from May 17 through June 15 have not been postponed and are expected to proceed as scheduled.

"Sadly I have taken a beat and pause my Vegas residency. I was sick at the end of the last leg and all the way through my break. I hadn't quite gotten a chance to get back to full health before shows resumed and now I'm sick again, and unfortunately it's all taken a toll on my voice. And so doctors orders I have no choice but to rest thoroughly. The remaining 5 weekends of this leg are being postponed to a later date. We are already working out the details and you will be sent the information asap," Adele wrote on social media sites, including Facebook, X and Instagram.

"The postponement dates are: 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29 and 30 March," the post stated.

I wonder if the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation et al. would be willing to cover the costs of the funeral arrangements for their victims? It's the least they can do. It seems Trudeau is providing an example by offering euthanasia if the lethal injection misfires or is taking too long to finish the job.

there is a new memorial bench here in Berkeley for Dixie Lewis. It is right by my house. Dixie is the daughter of Michael Lewis who passed in a car accident in the summer of 2021.

"Nobody was drunk," Michael said. "No one knows why—they crossed a double yellow line and went straight into a truck."

Berkeley lost 6 recent high school graduates that summer, Probably nothing.

Few people could chronicle the story of the covid era as effectively as renowned author Michael Lewis. We will pray he sees the truth about the last 4 years and its possible role in the death of his daughter.
