As I said on Igor's post about his head-smacking myopia, this Upton Sinclair quote never fails me—indeed, I nominate it as the quintessential quote for all things COVID:

His daughter is autistic. To even entertain the possibility that he was instrumental in causing his daughter's condition is too much for most parents to bear.
